Irish Fairie Art Show

We're having an Irish Fairies and Folklore Art Show at school starting early March. Here are my two entries for the exhibit, The Grogoch and The Puca.
Both were done in Illustrator, as the powers that be decree'd that we would use a flat-ish vectory style. Google Grogoch and Puca for more info on these fairies.

Some character design work.

Character design work. A viking named Gold, and a rough sketch of a Puca. Or, if you prefer, Pooka or Phooka. All spellings seem to be acceptable. Google it.

Background and scenery!

While we can all agree that every aspect of my art needs improvement, I have a sudden and specific interest in improving my backgrounds and overall scenery drawing skills. Here's some practice I did to usher in the new year:
The front room of Cosmo's house:

CatBeard's lair:

and Brookline Street, home to Cosmo, CatBeard and a host of others:

30 Characters 2013 #1- Jasper Asteroid

There is a certain neighborhood that finds itself often menaced by a certain stray cat who sort of looks like a pirate. When said stray cat continues to get the better of local animal control, the situation captures the notice of Jasper Asteroid. Jasper is a cat behaviorist by day, rock band french horn player by night, and happens to have his own TV show about dealing with unruly cats.
Will Jasper be able to sort out CatBeard's issues, or will he have finally met his match?

Anastasia

I'll tell you something. I've never respected the 'draw so-and-so' segments in any animated feature's special features offerings. But we actually followed along with one recently in my Character Design and Development class. Our teacher put in Don Bluth's "Anastasia" DVD and fired up the special features and had us draw alongside the big Donny himself. Don walked us through drawing Anastasia. Here's mine:

Michaelangelo and Klunk - Foot Ninja TMNT fanart

Two TMNT sketch cards I did just for grins. Michaelangelo and Klunk, and a mean ol' nasty Foot Ninja (2003 cartoon design)
Pen and Marker on 2.5 x 3.5 sketch cards

Time to get studious!

CosmiCat and the gang will be making an appearance in the Auburn Hills campus of Baker College on  October 24th. We’ll be selling copies of CosmiCat and Science Girl, with a portion of the sales going to benefit the Animation Club. https://www.facebook.com/groups/170600792951303 Hey, does this mean that these comics count as textbooks?
